The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS) is organizing their signature events – “Create Your District” Competition 2026 (「構建『你』想荃灣」創作比賽2026) .  Over the past years, the events have attracted attention and growing interest from the young generation in places and environment where they are studying, working, and playing everyday. A lot of bright and creative ideas were generated from the participating students and some of which have also received the attention of the policy making government departments. 

The 2026 Competition, with focus in Tsuen Wan, aims to arouse the perception and awareness of the young generation on the significance of balanced and sustainable urban development. Through this programme, students will explore the rich history, cultural heritage, and urban transformation potential of the Tsuen Wan District. Alongside with the government initiative of developing low altitude economy, the participants will also be encouraged to imagine and explore their visions in how the concept of low altitude economy would be introduced in their creative design of Tsuen Wan District.

Targeting all students from local secondary schools and international schools, the Competition will feature workshops on redevelopment, preventive maintenance, building rehabilitation, and the use of Story Map, complemented by guided tours to deliver surveying knowledge in an engaging and interactive manner. This initiative not only encourages creativity but also inspires students to consider future studies and careers in surveying and urban development.
