The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS) is organizing “Create Your District” Competition 2025 (「構建『你』想九龍城『寨』」創作比賽2025).  

The 2025 Competition, themed around Kowloon Walled City, aims to educate the younger generation on the importance of balanced and sustainable urban development. Through this initiative, students will explore the rich history, cultural heritage, and urban transformation potential of the Kowloon City District. The Competition will highlight district-based sustainable development strategies, introduce not only the concept of demolition and re-build, but also preventive maintenance to prolong building lifespans, and promote innovative approaches to holistically improve the built environment.

Targeting F.3 to F.5 students, the Competition will feature workshops on redevelopment, preventive maintenance, building rehabilitation, and the use of Story Map, complemented by guided tours to deliver surveying knowledge in an engaging and interactive manner. This initiative not only encourages creativity but also inspires students to consider future studies and careers in surveying and urban development.
